Bayou DeSiard Trail
Bayou DeSiard is a scenic waterway in Ouachita Parish that flows through Downtown Monroe and alongside the campuses of the University of Louisiana at Monroe and the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). This charming bayou offers a peaceful paddling experience with convenient access points at locations like Catahoula’s and ULM, making it a favorite for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy a relaxing day on the water.

This is an out and back paddle. There is normally minimal current in this Bayou. Bayou DeSiard can normally be padded any time during good weather. Always Respect other Sportsmen.

Note: Catahoula's offers kayak rentals. However, it is recommended to follow the trail above and put in at Connerly's Boat Launch.
Just beyond the trail Way Point #4, you can find two local restaurants - Catahoula's and Waterfront Grill. During the University semesters, you may have the bonus of seeing the ULM National Champion Water Ski Team practicing on the bayou!
