West Monroe Places Top 5 in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards

West Monroe, LA–West Monroe, Louisiana has placed 4th in the USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice awards Best Small Town in the South.

West Monroe was one of 20 towns selected for the Best Small Town in the South Category. Voting began on March 4th and closed on April 1st. Voters were encouraged to share the contest and vote each day for their favorite nominee.

“The City of West Monroe is thrilled to be named one of the Top 10 Best Small Towns in the South by USA Today,” said West Monroe Mayor Staci Mitchell. “We believe West Monroe is a special place to call home and a wonderful destination for travelers. Whether it’s shopping in historic downtown West Monroe or hiking through Kiroli Park, West Monroe has so much to offer the public. Thank you to everyone who took time to vote for West Monroe.”

2. Batesville, Arkansas

3. Thomasville, Georgia

4. West Monroe, Louisiana

5. Maysville, Kentucky

6. Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

7. Sevierville, Tennessee

8. Abingdon, Virginia

9. Brevard, North Carolina

10. Fairmont, West Virginia

Nominees for all categories are chosen by a panel of relevant experts which include a combination of editors from USA TODAY; editors from 10Best.com; relevant expert contributors; and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties.
