West Monroe Businesses Shine in Louisiana Life Magazine's "La Nouvelle Louisiane" Feature
West Monroe, LA– Discover Monroe-West Monroe is proud to announce that two local businesses have been recognized in the "La Nouvelle Louisiane" feature by Louisiana Life magazine. West Monroe Sports & Events has been honored as the Best Recreational Spot and Courtyard on Cotton has been named a runner-up for Best Outdoor Space.
La Nouvelle Louisiane is a feature by Louisiana Life magazine that showcases the most exciting and noteworthy people and places across Louisiana. Each year, nominations are taken from all over the state.
“We are lucky to have such incredible community partners and organizations in Monroe-West Monroe who work each day to make our destination a great place to visit. We are honored to help shine a light on the work they are doing and the spaces they are creating,” said Sheila Snow, Discover Monroe-West Monroe Vice President of Marketing & Communications.
Courtyard on Cotton opened last summer in Downtown West Monroe.
"At the time, we weren't actively looking for a gallery space in historic downtown West Monroe, but when I happened to stroll pass that fabulous wrought iron gate entry on Cotton Street one day last summer and peaked in to see the outdoor courtyard, I was completely overwhelmed with the vibe and absolutely knew that this would be THE perfect backdrop for an art gallery and creative space to share with the community. From art exhibitions, events and classes to popup collaborations – like weekend brunches, book swaps & sales or live music (coming soon!) – Courtyard on Cotton is a magical kind of greenspace to experience where all can gather and grow,” said Rebekah Lawrence, Founder + Gallerist, Courtyard on Cotton (Courtyard Galerie)
“We are so honored to have been chosen to be featured in Louisiana Life Magazine as the best recreational spot in Louisiana. None of this would have been possible without Mayor Staci Mitchell and the City of West Monroe’s vision years ago. We look forward to our state-of-the-art facility being the home to numerous sporting, and community events for years to come,” said Jamie Johnson, General Manager of West Monroe Sports & Events.
