Tourism Development Grants Open to 501(c) Organizations

Organizations must submit applications by January 30


MONROE-WEST MONROE, La. ― Discover Monroe-West Monroe announces the opening of two tourism development grants.


The Tourism Event and Marketing Grant fund is designed to assist any approved 501(c) organization or non-profit with their new events or marketing for attracting out-of-town visitors and increased overnight stays in Ouachita Parish.


Funds from the grant should support marketing and events that enhance the parish’s reputation for tourist activities, attract new events, strengthen existing events marketing abilities, and demonstrate a measurable tourism economic benefit. Priority will be given to establish creative projects and events creating a minimum of 50 room nights.


The Capital Improvement Grant fund is available to event venues and tourist-oriented attractions to help cover expenses for building new facilities or funding updates. These funds could support survey and planning expenditures for developing and revitalizing an existing facility, capital improvements, or special projects deemed to be of a community wide tourism interest.


The Tourism Development Marketing and Capital Improvement grants are available to existing Ouachita Parish based 501(c) organizations. Both grant applications can be found on DMWM’s Industry Partners’ page: https://www.monroe-westmonroe.org/about/partners/


All qualified 501(c) organizations or non-profits must submit their completed application by January 30, 2025, and follow the procedures in DMWM’s Tourism Development Program.
