DMWM Welcomes Alaina Herron as the Newest Destination Development Specialist

MONROE-WEST MONROE, La. ― Discover Monroe-West Monroe is pleased to welcome Alaina Herron on board as the newest Destination Development Specialist!

Alaina started in her role on March 31, 2025, and she’s a native of Pineville, LA. In December 2024, she graduated from Louisiana State University-Alexandria with a B.A. in Sports Communications.

Alaina began her career as the social media manager for the LSUA Baseball team, and then went on to become a photo/video/graphic design/social media intern at Kinetix for nearly a year.

“Although I’ve only been here for four months, I have already come to love the area’s outdoor scenery and wildlife, particularly the herons. I also appreciate how the Twin Cities blend the hustle and bustle of city life with the carefree, relaxing vibe of the countryside,” Alaina said.

Alaina’s hobbies include sports, portrait photography, hiking and recently hunting.

“I enjoy attending sporting events, especially local ones, because you never know when you might witness someone who will go on to have a professional career. I love the privilege of being able to say, "Yeah, I saw them play when they were just starting out,” Alaina explained.

Alaina will be responsible for collaborating with DMWM’s director of operations and other departments on special projects and strategic initiatives. When visitors stop by DMWM’s office, Alaina will introduce Monroe-West Monroe experiences to them before they explore the community.
