Discover Monroe-West Monroe Accepting 318 Entries for 318 Day

Inviting Ouachita Parish to be part of a Monumental Moment for Historical 318 Time Capsule

MONROE-WEST MONROE, La. ― Discover Monroe-West Monroe is inviting Ouachita Parish residents or past residents to help us make history for 318 Day!

On 318 Day, March 18, 2025, DMWM will bury a time capsule containing responses from 318 community members. These responses will represent all the reasons why the community loves Ouachita Parish.

It’s scheduled to open in exactly 31 years and eight months on Nov. 18, 2056! On this day in 2056, future generations will dig up your thoughts and memories about our parish.

We’re inviting the community to be a part of this legacy by attending the time capsule ceremony and sharing love and special moments for the 318 area.

The ceremony will take place on March 18 at 2 p.m. at DMWM’s office, located at 601 Constitution Drive, West Monroe, LA 71292.

The capsule form will be available from March 1 – 14 OR until we reach 318 acceptable entries. Only 318 entries will make it in the time capsule, so start thinking about your response and enter it here.
