Cotton Stakes Cutting September 1-7
West Monroe, LA – The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Cotton Stakes Cutting will be held September 1st– 7th at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center.
This event has an estimated economic impact of over $380,492 for Ouachita Parish.
Cutting is a western-style equestrian competition. A horse and rider work together to demonstrate the horse’s ability to handle cattle.
There are three levels of competition: old open, non pro, and amateur. $150,000 in prizes will be given out over the course of the week.
“Cotton Stakes is of tremendous value to our region as it annually brings economic impact to Ouachita parish and allows tourists to utilize one of our best facility assets – The Ike Hamilton Expo,” said Scott Bruscato, Discover Monroe-West Monroe Executive Vice President of Sales.
