Cotton Stakes Cutting at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center

West Monroe, LA – The Cotton Stakes Cutting will be held September 6-13 at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center. Riders from Oklahoma, Texas, and the East Coast will compete in the 5 championship cuttings.

Cutting is a western-style equestrian competition. A horse and rider work together to demonstrate the horse’s ability to handle cattle.

There are three levels of competition: open, non pro, and amateur. $400,000 is prizes will be
given out over the course of the week.

“With $150,000 added money, this Cotton Stakes Cutting is sure to be a fun, competitive
week. We are hoping to bring everyone a sense of “normalcy.” Gwen Coie, Show Secretary
said.

All events will take place at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center at 501 Mane Street, West Monroe,
