Conference on Bullying and Teen Suicide to be Held in West Monroe
West Monroe, LA—The Louisiana Conference on Bullying and Teen Suicide will take place on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will be at the Hilton Garden Inn and feature both national and international speakers. This is the first conference about this topic for educators in Northeast Louisiana.
Terry Driskill, the organizer of the event, expects people will walk away with not only a better understanding of bullying and teen suicide but also a knowledge of the seriousness of the situation in Louisiana. The speakers at the conference are experts on the subject and will equip attendees with methods and information that will give educators the tools to better prevent bullying in schools.
“Louisiana ranks number 1 in the nation in suicide attempts by 10th grade students, and last in bullying prevention in schools,” Driskill said.
Tickets for the event are $145 and include lunch, all day refreshments, and door prize giveaways.
The conference will focus on high school and middle school students. The event will highlight the statistics and effects of these issues on teens along with preventative methods.
To book a room at the Hilton Garden Inn, call 318-398-0653 and mention “Louisiana Conference on Bullying” for a discounted room rate. For registration and more information, please visit www.louisianaconference.net.
