Kicking off the Mardi Gras extravaganza, the Twin Cities Krewe de Rivière is all set to dazzle the streets of Monroe-West Monroe with their parade at 5 PM on Saturday, February 8. This year’s theme: Out of This World.

The parade promises to be a sight to behold, featuring over 60 entries that include mesmerizing floats, dynamic dance groups, impressive riding groups, and even the thrilling addition of monster trucks! But the excitement doesn't stop there – the world-famous Grambling band will be leading the procession with their Grand Marshal, the Monroe Moccasins hockey team.

For those who can't get enough of the Mardi Gras magic, the joy continues the following weekend with The Krewe of Janus parades on Saturday, February 15. These iconic parades, steeped in tradition and fun, offer an array of attractions that celebrate the essence of Mardi Gras in all its glory.

It’s an all-day party with the first parade rolling out at 10 AM at Pecanland Mall's Center Court. This free and adorable children' s parade kicks off the day's celebrations with the cutest mini-Mardi Gras floats and even cuter riders. No parade is complete without beads, candy, and other throws.

Are you ready for more cuteness? At 1 PM, Antique Alley in West Monroe will be filled with pets of all shapes and sizes ready to roll in this year's parade. All pets are welcomed, even those with feathers and scales. This event also features food trucks, vendors, and music.

Need to get your blood pumping before the big parade? You can run a portion of the parade route and back through downtown West Monroe in your Mardi Gras-themed outfits for this year’s Jester Jog 5K! The crowds will already be gathered for the parade, so many will cheer on our race participants as they run past.

Powder Mardi Gras Colors will be thrown throughout the race in celebration. The first 250 finishers will receive specialty beads, a drink token from Flying Heart Brewing & Pub-West Monroe, and a silicone Mardi Gras cup. The race begins at 2:30 PM at the corner of Wood and Commerce Street.

Now it’s time for the main event – The Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade at 6 PM. Elaborate floats, booming marching bands, and sparkling beads all come together for this huge event. The parade begins in West Monroe at 1118 Natchitoches Street and ends at Oliver Road in Monroe.
