Black Bayou National Wildlife Refuge: If you’re looking to get fully immersed in nature while getting your steps in, this trail is perfect for you! The walking path at Black Bayou goes throughout the refuge, in both the woodland area and over the water. See natural Louisiana wildlife firsthand on this one-of-a-kind nature trail.
Riverside Hiking Trail: Catch the sunrise, or sunset on this paved path that runs alongside the Ouachita River. Right outside of Monroe’s Garden District, you can access this path from the Forsythe Boat Ramp. This walking path has a beautiful view of both the Ouachita River and Forsythe Park!
Chennault Park Trail: Throughout the Chennault Park golf course, there is a walking path that’s perfect for soaking up the sunshine. Get your golf and walking game on all in one spot.
Kiroli Park Trail: Weaving all throughout Kiroli Park, this 1.9-mile loop trail is ideal for getting your steps in. Have a furry friend with you? No problem! The Raising Canes dog park is located at the end of the trail so your pup can play too.
Restoration Park: Get immersed in nature while in the middle of town at the Restoration Park walking path. With beautiful scenery, over-the-water pathways, and a convenient location, you’re sure to love this hike. Don’t forget to check out the giant heron at the entrance facing I-20!
Highland Park Wetland Trail: This new wetland trail is ideal for those looking for a good workout. With 1.25 miles of pathway for walking and cycling, this trail is also equipped with more than 12 pieces of fitness equipment throughout, so you can meet your training goals in one place.
