Wellness Resolution Run
January 6th
Get a running start for the new year! The Wellness Center's 8th annual Wellness Resolution Run is happening on January 6th. There will be a 4-mile and an 8-mile run, both starting at 8:00 AM. The race will start at the Glenwood Regional Medical Mall parking lot.
The Last Five Years
January 11th-14th; 19th-21st
Drama Desk award-winner, The Last Five Years, is Jason Robert Brown’s intimate window into a couple’s doomed marriage. This two-person musical production has enraptured audiences around the world! Catch a showing at the Strauss Theatre Center Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM.
Ag Expo 2024
January 12th
The North Louisiana Agri-Business Council Ag Expo 2024 is back at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center to educate the public on the many ways agriculture touches lives daily! Ag Expo teaches the public about our sources of food and fiber and provides a networking opportunity for ag-related businesses and services.
Twin Cities Krewe de Riviere Grand Ball
January 13th
Enjoy delicious food, drinks, and lots of fun at the Twin Cities Krewe de Riviere Grand Ball on January 13th! There will be a table decorating contest and an auction with one-of-a-kind items. Take fun pictures at the photo booth and listen to live music by Bag of Donuts. This is a formal event; floor length gowns and tuxedos are required.
Twin Cities Krewe of Janus Grand Ball
January 20th
The Annual Twin Cities' Krewe of Janus Grand Ball is taking place on January 20th. Join them at Bayou Pointe to celebrate the Mardi Gras King & Queen for a night filled with fun, food, and dancing! Formal attire is required. This year's band is The Top Cats from New Orleans!
Baroque's Grandmaster: J.S. Bach
January 25th
The Monroe Symphony Orchestra presents Baroque's Grandmaster: J.S. Bach, a sublime selection of glorious works with solo soprano, bass, oboe, and strings.
Krewe de Riviere Mardi Gras Events
January 27th
This day is filled with Mardi Gras magic! First, join the Krewe de Riviere for their annual Children's and Pet Parade at 10:00 AM. Then, hang out at the Downtown River Market for Mardi Gras Madness from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM with live music, food trucks, vendors, mask making and more. Last but certainly not least, watch the amazing Mardi Gras Parade with at least 50 separate entries including over 20 throwing floats, dance groups, riding groups, the Grambling State Marching Band, and some really cool “rolling” acts. The parade rolls out at 5:00 PM.
Platforms and Polyester
January 27th
Pull out those bell bottoms and make your way to the West Monroe Convention Center for the 12th annual Platforms and Polyester on January 27th! Dance to tunes from the Mississippi band, Meet the Press. Doors open at 7:00 PM and the band starts at 8:00 PM. This event is brought to you by The Radio People.
