Outside the Lines Original: Krewe de Riviere
Inclusion and community were top of mind when community members were in talks of creating a second Krewe. In 2019, the Krewe de Riviere was founded on the principles of inclusion and being community based. Since their establishment in 2019, these principles are still top of mind for the Krewe.
The Krewe de Riviere has a place for everyone. In fact, with the creation of the Krewe came the start of two dance groups! The 318 Swampers is a dance troupe for ages 21 and up. This group likes to have fun and let loose - they’re full of Carnival spirit! The Louisiana LunaChicks is an all-inclusive women’s dance team. Their mission is to serve the community while empowering each other to be the best version of themselves. As you can tell, this Krewe is all about our community.
A Neon Revolution will take over Monroe-West Monroe on January 27, as the Krewe de Riviere rolls through. Monster trucks, Miss Louisiana, live performances, eccentric floats, and quirky throws are just some of the exciting things you can look forward to!
Musical performances are a huge part of this parade, and this year is stacked full of great performances! Attendees can expect to see live musical performances from local high school bands, the World Famed Grambling State University band, the 318 Swampers, and the Louisiana LunaChicks - just to name a few.
Get ready for a neon revolution full of inclusion, community members, and true Mardi Gras spirit!
