When did you start singing?
I grew up singing hymns in church, and I joined the choir as soon as I was old enough to.
When did you start playing guitar?
I got my first guitar (a baby Taylor) for Christmas in '09. I’ve gone through quite a few instruments since then, but it still holds a place of honor and affection in my collection.
I’ve always loved performing! I used to put on shows, skits, dance numbers, and everything in between with my cousins for our family. And I loved just fiddling around on my guitar for my adoring stuffed animal fans! My paternal grandfather has always pushed us to pursue music in any way or form. Every sibling and cousin can play an instrument, if not multiple.Clara McBroom
Do you write your own songs?
I do! I write songs every day. It’s a great decompressor and an easy way to express yourself that’s a great deal cheaper than therapy.
Where can people listen to your music online?
I have two covers and one original currently out on all platforms. I recorded a cover of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” at a buddy of mines home studio earlier last year for our Christmas in NELA project. It benefited the Toys for Tots Foundation. What a cool thing to be a part of! I was tickled pink that they even asked me. And then I went and spent some time in Austin, TX for a bit and recorded a cover of “Folsom Prison Blues” by Jonny Cash and one of my original songs: “Stay a Little Longer”. I wrote it about my current long-distance relationship with my very handsome fella. I released both earlier this year.
