Chennault Aviation Museum
Take the day off and soar into history at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum. Here you can learn about the birth of Delta Airlines, the Flying Tigers squadron, and discover the history of many military heroes from Northeast Louisiana. Step outside to view the Aviation Park, showcasing restored military aircraft and their history.
Flying Heart Brewing and Pub
Join Flying Heart on July 5 for live music by Charlotte’s Web as they kick off their 3 day celebration of 3 great years in West Monroe! Make sure to try their house special, the Daywrecker beer alongside the Daywrecker Pizza complete with 3 kinds of meat and beer cheese. There is no cover charge for this event.
Downtown Celebrations
Celebrate freedom with Downtown Monroe and West Monroe! You can try delicious local food from food trucks in Alley Park throughout the day. Enjoy more live music from Monty Russell & Friends while you shop from local merchants and creators in West Monroe! Or head over to Downtown Monroe for the annual block party in honor of Independence Day, with live music, food, and fun!
Events
Get ready for a weekend of great events! Start the weekend off at the Firecracker 5K Run/Walk and take in all the scenery of historic buildings in Downtown Monroe. The Good Daze will have their own block party on July 5 featuring food, artists, markets, and more along Art Alley. The fun is not over after Friday , though! Head to Courtyard on Cotton on July 6 for their First Saturday Brunch or the Monroe Civic Center for a Roll City Roller Derby home game!
Fireworks
No Independence Day Celebration is complete without an outstanding fireworks display. Settle in by the Ouachita River, Downtown Monroe or Downtown West Monroe to see the Twin Cities Firework Celebration on July 5th. Fireworks start at 9:00 and you won’t want to miss this excitement!
