In the past 21 years since it opened in June 2002, Eskamoe's has become a renowned favorite among locals. A wonderland of frozen custards and treats awaits each customer who ventures there. Just wait until you see the SECRET menu items and endless possibilities you can create!

Dan and Kelle Messer discovered their love for frozen custard after visiting a local custard shop while living in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They started researching how to open a frozen custard shop and came across a custard machine manufacturing company offering up a “scoop school”. From there, they created a business plan, found land, and with the help of Kelle's mom, opened the first location of their frozen custard shop in June 2002 on Forsythe Avenue - Eskamoe's Frozen Custard.

Eskamoe’s was an instant success thanks to the incredible custard, endless flavor combos, amazing service, and the double drive-thru. The overwhelming support of customers coming from West Monroe led to the opening of a second location just 9 months later. Further expansion to other locations made sense because customers were coming from far and wide to get their frozen custard fix. With Dan and Kelle’s journey to success, the third location was opened in Ruston in 2010 and the fourth location opened in 2014 in Sterlington.

Dan and Kelle were hands-on owners. You could always see them scooping up the best treats in town.

Jake Messer

Currently, the Messer’s both own and operate the Monroe and West Monroe locations with their son, Jake, as the General Manager and Operating Partner. In 2020, the Ruston location was sold to longtime Supervisor Melanie Lugo. In 2022, the Sterlington location was sold to longtime Manager Luke Traweek and Rodney Traweek.

While most custard stores only have traditional vanilla and chocolate, Eskamoe's offers both, as well as over 30 different flavors for concretes, shakes, and even twisters. Having an array of flavors and toppings allows them to make custom specialty treats such as German Chocolate Cake Concrete, Mint Chocolate Chip, Moe’s Mocha, Mardi Gras Custard and more. Imagine this: a Cold Brew Shake – fresh brewed coffee and frozen custard topped with whipped cream, what’s not to love? The possibilities are endless!

Specials are offered every two weeks so customers can try something special that’s not on the menu. Eskamoe’s even has catering options, from shaved ice parties to ice cream carts, they have you covered!
